Description:
CI856K01 is ABB AC 800M S100 I/O Interface module. CI856K01 is installed on DIN rail.  CI856K01 is a Communication bridge between AC800M and S100 system. 

S100 I/O communication is realized in AC 800M by communication interface CI856, which is connected to the CEX-Bus through a base plate. The CI856 expansion unit contains the CEX-Bus logic, S100 I/O-bus logics, CPU and a DC/DC converter that supplies appropriate voltages from the +24 V supply, via the CEX-Bus. The baseplate, TP856, houses a ribbon connector connecting to bus extender boards in S100 I/O racks and provides a simple DIN-rail mounting. Up to five S100 I/O racks can be connected to one CI856 where each I/O rack can hold up to 20 I/O boards. TP856 Baseplate has one 36-pin centerline miniature ribbon connector for connecting S100 I/O racks.

The CI856 is powered by the processor unit, via the CEX-Bus, and therefore does not require any additional external power source.
