Conformal Coating Explained: Why T8312-7C Is a Better Alternative to Standard T8312-7

Time: August 07, 2026
Recently, some clients inquiry T8312-7 and T8151. We suggest client take T8312-7C and T8151C instead. What's the difference? Can the module with C totally replace of the origianl part number?

What's the meaning of "C" in the ICS module part number?
C means Conformal Coated. It is a thin, specially polymer film which applied onto the printed circuit boards and electronic components. The conformal coated can shield the boards and components against moisture, contamination, vibration, thermal shock and electrical stress.

What's the feature of Conformal Coated?
The Conformal Coated can conform to the intricate circuit boards, fully covering traces, solder joints and components. It preserves electrical performance while boosting dielectric strength. Additionally, the film mitigates short circuits, oxidation and leakage current, and maintains signal integrity at all times.

What applications require circuit boards with conformal coating?
In the automation industry, the circuit boards are always exposed to harsh atmospheres with high temperature, steam, contamination and flammable substances. Therefore, using Conformal Coated circuit boards is necessary, which can extend the hardward service life, cut maintenance costs and downtime, enhance system stability, and ultimately boost overall production efficiency.

Now, let's back to the original question, can the T8312-7C totally replace of T8312-7? The answer is definitely yes. T8312-7C functionlly same as T8312-7, meanwhile, it is oil-proof, waterproof and flame-retardant, with the longer service life, better than T8312-7.
