VSV300 and VSV301 are the key modules of the distributed monitoring system. They can be worked in power generation turbines, oil and gas applications and auxiliary balance-of-plant equipment.


When using the module, understanding the differences between VSV300 and VSV301 helps you pick the proper one for installation distance, signal integrity, and operating environment. These two modules share most core functions but differ in three critical areas that directly affect field performance.


The most noticeable distinction lies in their buffered output characteristics. VSV300 uses a 1:10 attenuated ratio for dynamic channel outputs, meaning original sensor signals are scaled down at the source. This design requires an external buffer amplifier to restore full-amplitude raw signals, even for short cable runs. In contrast, VSV301 provides 1:1 buffered outputs that preserve the original signal level without attenuation. It only needs an amplifier for cables longer than 500 meters, simplifying on-site wiring and reducing extra components.


Phase accuracy also sets them apart. VSV301 maintains tighter phase alignment across its measurement range, supporting higher-precision synchronous sampling and cross-channel analysis. VSV300 offers reliable phase performance but does not reach the same precision level, making it better suited for standard protection tasks rather than high-accuracy diagnostics.


Operating temperature limits are another practical difference. VSV301 supports a wider thermal range, performing consistently in more demanding thermal environments. VSV300 works well in standard industrial settings but has a lower maximum operating temperature.
