Description:
The IS200BPIB Bridge Personality Interface Board delivers the necessary signal conditioning to connect PI connector logic-level digital control signals to either three or six Gate Driver/Shunt Feedback boards. It also integrates isolated VCO feedback circuits for monitoring the DC link, as well as VAB and VBC phase output voltages. Additionally, the BPIB board captures faults detected by the Gate Driver boards and relays this fault information—certain faults are handled locally on the board itself. The primary control interface is via the PI connector. All logic signals to and from the Gate Driver boards feature double optocoupler isolation, powered by an isolated 5V intermediate supply derived from the 17.7V AC feed.

Control logic for each phase is implemented in a dedicated Electronically Programmable Logic Device (EPLD). Beyond shared configuration, clock, and reset functions, these three EPLDs operate independently to perform the following functions:

• UP/DOWN driver control.
• Driver soft shutdown on fault
• Fault latching
• Parallel bridge latched fault reporting
• Parallel bridge current feedback VCO output summing
